Amputee Clinic
Our amputee clinic is conveniently located at UNC Center for Rehabilitation Care and UNC Ambulatory Care Center. Our relationship with the UNC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Orthopedic Departments allow us to collaborate together with our patients to ensure the best course of treatment is executed in a timely fashion. This approach has proven to be effective when treating the whole patient including: Diagnosis, surgery when necessary, prosthetic fitting, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other rehabilitation services.
Lifelong Care
After you leave clinic, your journey to recovery does not stop. Providers continue to track your progress and will schedule follow-ups for prosthetic fitting, physical/occupational therapy and wellness checks. This is especially important for children as their bodies are growing and changing during these years. Once our patients grow into adults we have a plan for them to transition into our adult based clinics. Our highly trained staff is very knowledgeable within the field of pediatric prosthetics and we would be happy to walk you and your child through this treatment process.
